Thessaloniki Local Park Initiative

Living the fast-paced life in the city, surrounded by tall, grey buildings with little or no greenery, tends to pull us away from enjoying life and appreciating the calmness nature can provide. When you reminisce about your childhood days we are sure that many of them were spent outside, breathing in fresh air and enjoying the wonders of greenery.

We want to hold on to that memory as much as possible and we believe that building green areas in the cities is essential for the health and prosperity of the people and their communities.

Renovating a city center park…

In cooperation with our friends from the Local Thessaloniki espresso bar and restaurant, we wanted to do something important for our community and improve our surroundings by bringing in more smiles, fresh air and relaxing, lush greenery. We teamed up to renovate the local park once again and give it a fresh makeover.

This initiative first took place four years ago when this abandoned space was renovated into a lively park. Since then it has been a wonderful nature getaway in the middle of the city craze. Its pleasing aesthetics and cleaner air it provides help increase happiness and boost mood! The park is also pet friendly, so feel free to enjoy its beauty with your furry best friend!

Pay it forward

We hope that this initiative will encourage people to spend more time outside, communicate and make new friends in this beautiful, green ambiance, as well as inspire others to do the same and help our cities become greener and happier.

With every new green corner, garden or park, we are one step closer to having a healthier environment and a better future for all of us. Let’s start changing things and show that there is always time for worthy causes!
